MU receives the most heartbreaking news from 'Carrington's Messi'

Young prospect JJ Gabriel will miss out on his official debut for Man Utd because of a particular circumstance.

Man Utd's young player JJ Gabriel has trained with the first team several times this season but has yet to make his official debut. The highly rated teenager is performing well, yet reports indicate that the “Red Devils” are prevented from giving him a chance in the Premier League.

According to Daily Express, JJ Gabriel is ineligible to debut in the Premier League until next season. The rules state that any player eligible to compete in the season must be at least 15 years old by August 31. However, the Man Utd prospect’s birthday is in October, so he does not meet the criteria for this season.

The rising star born in 2010 could still play for the first team in the FA Cup or Carabao Cup this season, but he has not been given the opportunity. Interim coach Darren Fletcher once hinted at the possibility of calling Gabriel up to the first team for the FA Cup third-round match against Brighton.

He stated: “JJ is an incredible talent. I really enjoy working with him and getting to know him better. JJ is a young player receiving a lot of attention, which is well deserved because he is truly gifted. He works hard. The first thing I want to say is that JJ loves football. He enjoys training, playing, holding the ball, and expressing himself. He makes excellent decisions.

He has an amazing passion for football. At only 15 years old, he has a bright future ahead. I’m very excited about JJ’s talent, but the most important thing is that he continues to develop. Currently, JJ plays for the U18 team and is doing very well, but there’s still much to learn. I can’t say enough good things about JJ. He has a wonderful family and strong support around him, and we are very happy to have him at the club.”

However, Fletcher did not include Gabriel in the matchday squad, and Man Utd was subsequently eliminated by Brighton. An early exit to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup also ended JJ Gabriel’s chance to debut for the first team in cup competitions this season.

JJ Gabriel, dubbed the "new Messi" and a product of the Carrington academy, is playing for Man Utd’s U18 team this season despite being only 15. This young talent mainly plays as a striker but can also operate as a left winger when needed.

The impressive performances of this young Man Utd player earned him a call-up to the England U15 national team last season. In the current season, JJ Gabriel has made his debut for the U16s and has appeared three times in total.
