AFC offered intriguing evaluations about the match between CAHN and Tampines Rovers in the AFC Champions League Two round of 16 for the 2025/26 season.
From February 10 to 12, the AFC Champions League Two round of 16 will officially begin. In this stage, CAHN will be the sole representative from Vietnam. Under the guidance of coach Mano Polking, they will host Tampines Rovers FC (Singapore) at the Hang Day Stadium.
Ahead of this encounter, AFC commented: "The round of 16 in the East Zone kicks off with the match between Công An Hà Nội and Tampines Rovers FC in Hanoi. This promises to be an exciting ASEAN derby, with both teams aiming to advance further in the competition. Công An Hà Nội from Vietnam ranks second in Group B, while Singapore’s Tampines Rovers FC impressed in Group H by topping the group ahead of the Asian champions Pohang Steelers."
This is the second meeting between CAHN and Tampines Rovers this month. Previously, on February 4, the police-affiliated team secured a commanding 6-1 victory over their opponents in the Shopee Cup 2025/26. On February 18, the two teams will meet again in the second leg, making it a total of three encounters within one month.
Despite the recent emphatic win, coach Mano Polking remained cautious about the Singaporean side. After the 6-1 victory, the German-Brazilian strategist said: "We had a great match with many players who do not often play, and today they showed that we have a very strong squad quality.
However, if you make the mistake of thinking next week will be the same, then we will have a big problem. Next week is a completely different game, a completely different history,"he added.
