Based on reports from Saudi Arabia, the demands Cristiano Ronaldo presented to conclude his one-week strike at Al Nassr have come to light.
Cristiano Ronaldo has missed the last two matches of Al Nassrafter voluntarily withdrawing his name from the squad list for both games.
Former legal director of Al Nassr, Saad Al Subaie, disclosed that the Portuguese superstar issued a total of 8 demands as conditions for his return to play, including 4 for the current season and 4 for the next season. These requests range from asking the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) to reduce interference in the club’s internal affairs to increasing support in the transfer market.
Specifically, Ronaldo wants Al Nassr to immediately reinstate CEO Jose Semedo and Sporting Director Simao Coutinho, both of whom were suspended last year. Additionally, he requests that PIF guarantees the financial resources necessary for the team to compete for titles, while limiting interference in sporting operations. The Portuguese star also wants PIF to take a firm stance against individuals believed to undermine or destabilize the club’s management.
Looking ahead to the next season, Ronaldo proposes that Al Nassr strengthen the squad in a systematic manner and to a level comparable with rival clubs. The former Man Utd and Real Madrid player also hopes the club will extend the contract of head coach Jorge Jesus to maintain stability for the long-term project, and demands greater transparency regarding PIF’s level of support for the team.
His dissatisfaction stems from Al Nassr not signing any major players during the mid-season transfer window. Consequently, he chose not to participate in the match against Al Riyadh on the last day of the transfer period, and then continued to miss the game against Al Ittihad. Although he continues to train with the team, Ronaldo’s future at Al Nassr remains uncertain amid links to a possible departure from the club soon.
