A Vietnamese prodigy of a century brings the happiest news imaginable

French-Vietnamese footballer Rahni Moreau Nguyễn has come back to Vietnam and is undergoing trials at a leading V-League club.

For many years, Vietnamese football has been diligently searching for a central midfielder capable of controlling the midfield, combining strength in challenges with the composure to manage the game’s tempo. While this thirst remains unquenched, Rahni Moreau Nguyễn – a player of both Vietnamese and French descent – has suddenly become a focal point of attention following news of his return to trial in the country.

According to recent updates, Rahni is training with Thể Công – Viettel as he looks for a chance to secure a professional contract. This move has sparked curiosity among experts and fans alike, as the midfielder born in 2007 was developed in the French training system and is praised for his technical and tactical foundation deeply influenced by European football.

However, Viettel FC has already filled its quota of two overseas Vietnamese players without Vietnamese citizenship, namely Damian Vũ Thanh An and Kyle Colonna. If Rahni Moreau Nguyễn succeeds in his trial and signs for the second half of the season, Viettel will need to remove one of these two players to register the new signing.

Before coming to Vietnam, Rahni was part of the youth squad at Girondins de Bordeaux and made waves when invited for a trial at Empoli. This alone highlights the significant potential of the 18-year-old player, who is highly regarded for his maturity rare for his age group.

Standing around 1.80 meters tall, Rahni boasts a long stride, wide coverage, and a playing style that emphasizes efficiency.
