Upon completion in one year, PVF Stadium will become the first stadium in Vietnam to meet the standards for hosting the World Cup.
In just about a year, Vietnamese football will welcome a landmark infrastructure project as the PVF Stadium gradually takes shape. At the construction site, work is progressing at full speed, demonstrating a strong commitment to finishing the project on the promised schedule. This is considered a crucial foundation for Vietnam to own a stadium that meets the requirements for hosting top-tier international sporting events.
Started in October 2025, PVF Stadium is located within the PVF Youth Football Training Center in Nghia Tru commune, Hung Yen province. The facility will have a seating capacity of 60,000, with the Ministry of Public Security as the investor and Vinhomes – a member of Vingroup – acting as the general contractor. From the outset, the project attracted attention by aiming to meet standards for world-class tournaments.
According to the master plan, this stadium is the centerpiece of a sports-service complex covering about 92 hectares. Besides professional training and competitions, the facility is designed to be a multifunctional cultural and entertainment space capable of hosting major international events under FIFA standards. With a size one and a half times larger than My Dinh National Stadium, PVF promises to set a new milestone for domestic sports infrastructure.
Field observations in early February show multiple key components being constructed simultaneously, from land leveling and foundation work to erecting reinforced concrete pillars. The current progress is considered promising, closely following the plan to complete by March 30, 2027. If this pace continues, finishing on time is well within reach.
The most outstanding feature of PVF Stadium is its automatic retractable dome roof system, a technology appearing for the first time in Vietnam. This design is inspired by modern stadiums like AT&T Stadium, allowing flexible operation within 12–20 minutes. Additionally, the modular hybrid grass field – similar to Wembley Stadium – enhances durability, ensures quick drainage, and supports high usage intensity.
The surrounding area is also developed cohesively with a large plaza and an 18-hectare parking lot, ensuring the capacity to serve large crowds. Amid several other large stadium projects underway such as Rach Chiec Stadium, if PVF finishes on schedule in 2027, it will be the largest stadium in Vietnam at that time. The project is expected to become the "home" for generations of young players and provide a strong boost to the national sports infrastructure as it approaches international standards.
Vietnam is about to have a 60,000-seat stadium capable of hosting World Cup matches On the morning of October 19, the Ministry of Public Security held a groundbreaking ceremony for the PVF Stadium with a 60,000-seat capacity, featuring the most advanced dome roof technology in Vietnam and among the world's leading innovations.
