The newest simulation from the AFC supercomputer shows CAHN favored over Tampines Rovers in the Asian Cup 2 fixture, with a superior probability of victory despite the teams’ differing recent performances.
Before the upcoming clash between CAHN and Tampines Rovers in the AFC Champions League 2, the Asian Football Confederation’s supercomputer released a prediction table for the match outcome.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese representative is predicted to win with a 65% chance, a 9% likelihood of a draw, while Tampines Rovers’ chance of victory stands at just 26%. These figures indicate CAHN is still slightly favored despite entering the match without intense pressure regarding the result.
CAHN is currently in a busy schedule phase, facing the Singaporean team repeatedly across various competitions. Although the team led by coach Mano Polking has been eliminated, CAHN maintains a competitive position and is considered a tough opponent for any Southeast Asian club.
Home advantage combined with international experience are factors contributing to the positive evaluation from AFC’s prediction system for the Vietnamese team.
In terms of form, CAHN hasn’t had a very consistent run over the last five matches, but the quality and depth of their squad remain highly regarded. Experienced players with good game control help CAHN usually play solidly against regional rivals. The AFC supercomputer believes the home team’s ability to control the game and capitalize on opportunities is the key factor behind the 65% winning probability.
On the other hand, Tampines Rovers have shown quite impressive form recently with several consecutive wins. The Singaporean side still has clear motivation heading into decisive matches, which partly explains why they retain a 26% chance of victory according to the simulation.
However, playing away against a familiar opponent with a slightly stronger squad causes Tampines to be rated lower in the overall scenario.
The supercomputer predicts a 9% chance the match ends in a draw, suggesting a tight or cautious game is unlikely. AFC expects the pace of the match to be fairly fast, especially since CAHN tends to control possession while Tampines is ready to play quickly and press aggressively to seek chances.
Although the goals differ across tournaments, with a squad currently in good form in V.League, CAHN surely aims to turn these predictions into real victories to reward their home fans at Hang Day Stadium.
