On the evening of February 1st (Vietnam time), at Hang Day Stadium, CAHN staged an exciting comeback to defeat Ninh Binh with a score of 3-2 in the highlight match of round 12 in the V-League 2025/26. This victory not only propelled the Police team to the top of the standings with 29 points but also officially ended Ninh Binh’s 11-match unbeaten streak in the V-League and their 36-match unbeaten run across all competitions.
The 36-match unbeaten streak was considered a historic milestone, making Ninh Binh the first club in Asia to achieve this feat. This impressive journey began with their near-perfect championship in the 2024/25 First Division and continued as the team was promoted to the V-League. In Vietnam’s top league, they made a mark with an 11-match unbeaten run, including convincing wins over Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, and SHB Da Nang, demonstrating their growing strength in resilience and style of play.
However, under pressure at Hang Day Stadium, Ninh Binh was unable to preserve their record. In the 2nd minute, the visitors surprisingly took the lead when Geovane capitalized on Thanh Thinh’s cross to score with a one-touch finish, catching goalkeeper Filip off guard. Trailing early, CAHN immediately pushed forward. After Alan Grafite missed a clear chance in the 15th minute, he redeemed himself by scoring the equalizer at the 30th minute.
The turning point came in quick succession at minutes 33 and 38. Alan successfully converted a penalty to make it 2-1, before Quang Nho was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Van Hau. Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, CAHN continued to press and scored a third goal in first-half stoppage time, with Van Hau assisting Alan to complete his brace.
In the second half, Ninh Binh fought back and narrowed the gap to 2-3 in the 54th minute thanks to a solo run and a decisive finish by Tran Thanh Trung. Despite increasing pressure in the final minutes, the visitors could not find an equalizer. In the end, CAHN secured an emotional 3-2 victory, thus officially ending Ninh Binh’s historic unbeaten streak and claiming the top spot after round 12.
