Match result - The impressive display by the Vietnamese expatriate pair Lee Williams and Khoa Ngô enabled Ho Chi Minh City Police to claim an important win at PVF-CAND’s stadium during the 12th round of the V-League.
Despite playing away, Ho Chi Minh City Police controlled the early stages of the game. The most notable moment was the debut of Vietnamese expatriate Khoa Ngô, who has just returned from Australia.
The 2006-born star stood out with his speed and tricky dribbling skills, clearly demonstrated in the 16th minute when Khoa Ngô forced Văn Việt to handle the ball, earning the visitors a penalty. However, Tiến Linh's penalty kick was too weak to beat goalkeeper Phí Minh Long.
Nevertheless, just 7 minutes later, another Vietnamese expatriate, Lee Williams, broke the deadlock with a neat finish inside the penalty area for Ho Chi Minh City Police. After that, neither team created any significant chances for the remainder of the first half.
In the second half, PVF-CAND pushed forward to seek an equalizer. However, while still struggling to find a way through the opponent’s defense, the team led by Coach Nguyễn Thành Công conceded another goal.
In the 55th minute, Lee Williams made a run unmarked and delivered a perfect pass for Khoa Ngô to score into an empty net. VAR confirmed that neither player was offside, allowing Ho Chi Minh City Police to double their lead.
In the following minutes, both teams had clear chances, but only PVF-CAND managed to convert theirs with Văn Việt scoring in the 78th minute.
In the end, Ho Chi Minh City Police won 2-1 at PVF-CAND’s ground. This result moves Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức’s team up to 5th place with 20 points, while PVF-CAND remains 13th with just 8 points.
