Why the U23 Vietnam team was honored during the 'Super Sunday' match

Dinh Bac and Quoc Viet were both presented with awards prior to the highlight game between CAHN and Ninh Binh.

The award ceremony took place before the match between CAHN Club and Ninh Binh Club, held tonight (February 1, 2026) at Hang Day Stadium. At the 2026 AFC U23 Championship (hosted in Saudi Arabia), U23 Vietnam striker Nguyen Dinh Bac excelled by winning the top scorer award with 4 goals and 2 assists.

Before the game between CAHN Club and Ninh Binh Club, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – a member of the FIFA Competition Committee for national teams for the 2025-2029 term, AFC Executive Committee member, and Chairman of the AFC Competition Committee, The President of the Vietnam Football Federation presented the award to player Nguyen Dinh Bac.

Also during the match, the organizers of the V.League 1-2025/26 awarded the monthly prizes for November (covering rounds 6 to 11 and the rescheduled round 4 matches of V.League 1-2025/26), as follows: Best Club of the month: Hanoi Police Football Club; Best Coach of the month: Coach Polking Alexandre – Head Coach of Hanoi Police Football Club.

Best Player of the month: Nguyen Hoang Duc (No. 28, Ninh Binh Football Club); Best Goal of the month: Nguyen Quoc Viet (No. 99 – Ninh Binh Football Club) for his 80th-minute goal in the round 7 match between Hanoi Club and Ninh Binh Club on October 18, 2025.

The goal that earned Quoc Viet this prestigious award happened in the 80th minute of the match against Hanoi Club in round 7.From a left-side corner kick, the ball bounced perfectly, and the Ninh Binh striker unleashed a powerful volley from outside the penalty area, sending the ball straight into the top corner, surprising the opposing defense.

At the national team level, Quoc Viet recently completed a memorable 2026 AFC U23 Championship campaign with U23 Vietnam, finishing with a bronze medal. Notably, he scored the opening goal in the victory over U23 South Korea in the third-place playoff.
