Going abroad is one of the pathways for Chinese football. Following the U23 national team’s surprising runner-up finish at the U23 Asian Cup as a fourth-seeded team, several young prospects attracted interest from European clubs. Notably, U23 captain Xu Bin has started his overseas stint in the UK with Premier League Wolves. Due to work permit issues, Xu Bin will be loaned to League One side Barnsley. This is a common route for Asian players aiming for the top five European leagues: starting from lower divisions and smaller leagues to gain experience. If the player proves himself on the pitch, he will eventually make it to one of the major leagues.
At just 21 years old, Xu Bin is full of youthful vigor and early success, thriving both on the pitch and in his personal life. On the football front: he won the U23 Asian Cup runner-up medal and is now with Wolves; off the pitch, he has a beautiful girlfriend accompanying him on this adventure!

After Wolves officially announced Xu Bin’s signing, the U23 national team captain arrived in London. Xu Bin shared photos on social media of himself and his girlfriend enjoying their youth together during his overseas stay, visiting the iconic London Eye.

This loving couple exchanged sweet interactions on social media, with Xu Bin captioning:We are the very best in the world. Xu Bin’s girlfriend replied:You just focus on playing football well, I’ve got everything else covered!

In my opinion, aside from integrating into the team, Chinese players face the challenge of adapting to life abroad. Having a beautiful and caring girlfriend by their side might be a tremendous advantage. It allows the player to concentrate on football, knowing there’s someone waiting at home, reducing the chance of getting distracted. Childhood sweethearts overcoming the difficulties of long-distance life together, growing hand in hand.
Keep it up, Xu Bin, wishing you continued success both on the field and in your personal life.
