Not only making a strong mark on the continental football field, striker Nguyễn Đình Bắc continues to win the hearts of fans through a deeply humanitarian gesture.
An oil painting portraying the striker wearing number 7 for Vietnam's U23 team is currently being publicly auctioned to raise funds for disadvantaged families in Yên Trung commune (Nghệ An), his hometown, as part of the “Tet for the Poor” program.
According to the organizers, the artwork was created by a painter within one day and night using traditional oil painting techniques. Notably, this is the only oil painting so far that depicts striker Nguyễn Đình Bắc in the national team jersey, holding special value both artistically and spiritually.
The auction officially started at noon on January 30 with a starting price of 10 million VND and will run until 4 PM on January 31. The highest bidder within the timeframe will become the owner of the piece and help spread the spirit of sharing to the community.
In an interview with Dân trí newspaper, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thắng, representative of striker Nguyễn Đình Bắc’s family, said: “This is the affection and solidarity that Đình Bắc and his family wish to send back to their hometown. Despite being busy with matches, he always keeps his heart connected to the place that nurtured him from the very beginning.”
The painting captures Nguyễn Đình Bắc celebrating a goal, proudly showing the U23 Vietnam team jersey. His determined gaze, one fist clenched, the other hand placed on his chest over the red flag with a yellow star, expresses a brave fighting spirit, national pride, and the young player’s aspiration to contribute.
Dominated by red tones symbolizing the national flag, blended with yellow hues in the background, it creates a powerful and energetic artistic space. The image of the ball and bold brush strokes surrounding the main figure illustrate the continuous rise of a talent growing up from the Nghệ countryside.
Mr. Thắng emphasized: “Beyond its artistic value, the painting carries deep humanitarian meaning as all proceeds from the auction will be converted into practical gifts for the poor, helping bring a warmer Tet to disadvantaged families in the local area.”
Importantly, this meaningful activity coincides with Nguyễn Đình Bắc’s peak career moment. Just one day after collecting numerous awards at the 2025 Victory Cup, the 2004-born striker received great news from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). With a voting rate of 86.71%, Đình Bắc won the Most Popular Player award at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, far ahead of his competitors.
In this tournament, the young striker of Vietnam’s U23 scored 4 goals, made 2 assists, earned the top scorer title, and played a key role in helping his team finish third overall. Previously, he was also honored as Young Athlete of the Year 2025 at the Victory Cup gala, while the U22 Vietnam team received the Team of the Year award.
