If we were to pick the player who genuinely leads Real Madrid’s attack this season, it has to be Kylian Mbappe. There is no longer any debate about this.
Week after week, match after match, Mbappe consistently displays a level of performance far above the rest, not only separating himself from teammates but also surpassing much of the football world.
For the first time this season, Mbappe has exceeded even his own very high standards by easily surpassing his average goals per game. The French striker ended the year as the world’s top scorer, boasting an incredible tally of 59 goals.
In a season where Real Madrid often lacks balance and coherence in their play, Mbappe remains a rare and steady pillar. When the team lacks ideas, he provides solutions. When confidence falters, it is Mbappe who pulls Real Madrid forward, almost single-handedly.
The problem for Real Madrid is not Mbappe’s form, but what is happening around him. The support from teammates is simply insufficient. The statistics reveal a harsh reality.
Vinicius has only scored 13 goals in 2025, while Jude Bellingham has 12. For players expected to share the attacking burden, these numbers are clearly disappointing.
The gap is glaring, even alarming: Mbappe alone has scored more goals than the entire rest of the Los Blancos squad combined.
Apart from him, Rodrygo, despite showing signs of improvement recently, has just reached 10 goals. Endrick, who has had limited opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti, has only managed 5 goals.
Arda Guler and Gonzalo Garcia have also stopped at 5 goals each, most of Gonzalo’s coming from the Club World Cup. Brahim Diaz has added 5 goals, while Federico Valverde contributed just 4 goals in 2025.
All these figures clearly show a painful truth: Mbappe is performing at an entirely different level. He is having a season “of his own,” while the rest of Real Madrid struggles to keep up.
If the other players do not step up soon and share the responsibility, Real Madrid risks wasting one of the most outstanding individual seasons in modern football.
