Despite being in recovery, Neymar sends a heartfelt vow to Brazil’s supporters, affirming he will do “everything, even the impossible” to reclaim the World Cup trophy.
Star player Neymar has just delivered an emotional message to Brazilian fans ahead of the 2026 World Cup, asserting he will do whatever it takes, “even the impossible,” to bring the trophy back to Samba land.
After helping Santos avoid relegation in the Brazilian league, Neymar underwent knee surgery last week to treat a meniscus injury. Despite being in recovery, the 33-year-old forward shows strong determination for the national team. “We will do everything, even the impossible, to bring the World Cup home to Brazil. If we reach the final, I promise I will score,” Neymar declared during a meeting with singer Thiaguinho last weekend.
According to Santos, the surgery performed by Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, part of Brazil’s medical staff, was “successfully completed.” Neymar is expected to return to training in about a month. He has not played for the Selecao since September 2023, when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury against Uruguay.
Meanwhile, Coach Carlo Ancelotti, who will lead Brazil at the 2026 World Cup,is still undecided about calling up Neymar. “If Neymar deserves it, he will be included. I will select the best squad in May. Everything depends on actual form,” the Italian coach stated.
Neymar’s future at Santos is also under scrutiny. His contract expires at the end of December, but club president Marcelo Teixeira revealed negotiations are underway to extend it by six months, at least until after the 2026 World Cup. “Neymar always considers Santos home. He wants to continue contributing and help the club achieve better results,” Teixeira said.
Despite injury and age challenges, Neymar’s leadership and ambition keep hopes alive that he will continue pursuing the dream of leading Brazil to a sixth World Cup title on North American soil.
