Striker Marcus Rashford recently took part in the La Fundacio Barca project, visiting a school in Raval, expressing his passion for social activities and charity work, and affirming his desire to win titles with Barcelona.
Forward Marcus Rashford has made a strong impression with his performance on the pitch, while also actively engaging in charity work within the community, especially during Christmas in Barcelona. This is his first time experiencing such activities abroad. Previously, Rashford mainly participated in charitable activities in England.
As a player of FC Barcelona, Rashford was invited by La Fundacio Barca to join a series of meaningful projects aimed at making a positive impact for children and vulnerable groups in society. Recently, Rashford visited Escola Vedruna, a school hosting students from 34 different nationalities in the Raval area of Barcelona, and Centre Comunitari Submari, where La Fundacio Barca has long been active. His presence brought great joy to the students and attracted the attention of the community.
Rashford said he began engaging in charity work at 18 or 19 years old, deeply influenced by his mother, who often helped homeless children and those in difficult circumstances in Manchester. Rashford himself tries to encourage teammates to join social activities but does not allow personal gain from it: "I feel comfortable doing things like this because I’ve been used to it since I was young. I believe that from my position, I can help many people."
Besides community activities, Rashford shared about his life and career at Barcelona. He said he has integrated very well with the club, teammates, and the city. His biggest goal wearing the Blaugrana shirt is to win trophies: “I am here to help the team win titles. Barcelona is a great club where winning is always expected. That’s what the fans, management, and players all want."
Regarding the pressure at Barca, Rashford sees it as beneficial for each player. He and his teammates view it as motivation to improve continuously: “The pressure here is not negative; it’s something you want if you aim to succeed. Moreover, wherever you are, you will face different kinds of pressure and challenges. I can’t be somewhere without high expectations."
