Hanoi Club achieved their initial victory in the Four-Team Friendly tournament by coming from behind to beat PVF-CAND 2-1.
Hanoi FC started the match again with a young lineup, playing very cautiously given that they had lost to HAGL in their opening match. Therefore, the first half was balanced with no side truly dominating. Hanoi created some notable chances through quick organization, but their defensive inexperience cost them.
PVF-CAND capitalized better on opportunities in the first half. After Nguyễn Bảo Long missed a one-on-one chance early on, the home team kept pressing with wing plays. In the 39th minute, from Eyenga’s cross, Hanoi’s defense cleared weakly, allowing Bảo Long to shoot, the ball deflected, beating the goalkeeper and giving PVF-CAND the lead before halftime.
After the break, Hanoi FC showed a completely different face. The capital team pushed forward, increased attacking tempo, and controlled the midfield. For over 20 minutes in the second half, PVF mostly retreated to defend. Hùng Dũng stood out as a leader, frequently appearing at key points and orchestrating play. In the 56th minute, Tiến Long tried a long-range shot that hit the crossbar. The sustained pressure finally paid off in the 68th minute when Hùng Dũng scored a stunning free-kick from outside 30 meters, curling and powerful, leveling the score at 1-1.
The momentum continued, and shortly after, the visitors earned a penalty after a PVF defender handled the ball in the box. From the spot, Văn Tùng calmly converted, completing Hanoi FC’s comeback.
The final minutes were tense as Hanoi deliberately slowed the pace, while PVF-CAND poured all their efforts into equalizing. Noel Mbo missed several close-range chances, and Quốc Kiên and Văn Vinh also failed to capitalize on good opportunities during stoppage time. This wastefulness forced the home team to accept defeat despite heavy pressure in the closing moments.
