The clash between U16 Vietnam and U16 Indonesia was held at noon on December 24, 2025 (Vietnam time) in Thailand, as part of the opening match of the AFF U16 Futsal 2025.

Before the match began, U16 Indonesia was favored as they had just won 4-2 against Myanmar in their opening game, and Indonesian futsal was performing strongly following their national team’s gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games. This gave the young players from the archipelago great confidence entering the match.
