Thailand's U19 futsal squad secured a 9-0 win over Brunei just ahead of their match against Vietnam's U19 team in the 2025 Southeast Asia U19 Futsal Championship.
On the evening of December 23, 2025, the host team, Thailand's U19 Futsal, had an incredibly impressive start at Group A of the 2025 Southeast Asia U19 Futsal Championship. Against an underpowered opponent, Brunei, coach Boonlert Charoenwong’s players unleashed a "goal storm," winning decisively 9-0 at the Nonthaburi arena.
Right after the kickoff, the "War Elephants" surged forward and took only 2 minutes to score through Pakpoom Thiamtee after a ball rebounded off the post. Although they missed a penalty at the 6th minute, Thailand doubled their lead at the 11th minute with a beautiful one-touch combination between Phumphuchit and Chayut. A major turning point came at the 14th minute when Brunei committed their sixth foul and lost a player due to a red card, allowing Setthawut to easily convert a penalty to make it 3-0, before he completed his brace at the end of the first half, putting Thailand ahead 4-0.
In the second half, the one-sided match continued as Brunei completely collapsed. Within less than 5 minutes (from the 29th to 32nd minute), the visitors' net was shaken 5 more times. Goals from Sorawich Sirisawat and Nattapol Sangkhawon, along with strikes by Thanakrit and Phumphuchit, sealed a commanding 9-0 victory for the Land of the Golden Temple team.
This triumph is a strong affirmation of Thailand’s strength as a title contender. However, the real challenge awaits them in the second matchday. At 8:00 PM on December 25, Thailand’s U19 team will face off in the "Group A final" against Vietnam’s U19 Futsal team.
