The Thailand U16 futsal squad secured a dominant win against Brunei in the first game of the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 futsal competition.
The Thailand U16 futsal team made an impressive debut by thrashing Brunei 20-0, earning full points in the opening match of the tournament. 2025 Southeast Asian U16 futsal championship.
The match took place at 5:30 PM at Nonthaburi Stadium. From the early minutes, the Thailand U16 team completely dominated. In the 3rd minute, Thanaphop Sunet assisted Boonrit Phetthiam, who skillfully controlled the ball and scored to break the deadlock. Moments later, Thanathip Samransuk launched a long pass to Punnon Wangsillapakhun, who outpaced the Brunei goalkeeper to make it 2-0. In the 4th minute, Thavin Thanchuea scored on the rebound for the third goal, before Thailand continued scoring consecutively to lead 10-0 by halftime.
At the end of the first half, the home team was ahead 10-0, clearly demonstrating the skill gap between the two sides. In the second half, the momentum did not change as the "War Elephants" maintained a strong attacking pace, scoring repeatedly with a variety of plays, from quick combinations to impressive long-range shots.
Several Thai players stood out with hat-tricks, notably Punnon Wangsillapakhun, Boonrit Phetthiam, and Thavin Thanchuea. The final goal was scored in the 40th minute, concluding Thailand U16 futsal’s overwhelming 20-0 victory.
With this result, Thailand U16 started perfectly at the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 championship, temporarily topping the standings with 3 points and a +20 goal difference. Meanwhile, Indonesia U16 ranked second with the same points but a lower goal difference (+2).
