OFFICIAL: One Southeast Asian football club is handed a 0-3 forfeit loss

The Disciplinary Committee of the Thai Football Association has fined Port FC, ruling that they lost 0-3 against Bangkok United.

Mr. Wacharin Phanurat chaired the 23rd meeting of the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee for the 2025/26 season on December 23. The meeting reviewed violations that occurred during the Round of 64 Chang FA Cup match between Port FC and True Bangkok United at Pat Stadium, Khlong Toei, Bangkok, on December 21, 2025.

True Bangkok United club filed a complaint with the tournament organizers, claiming that Port FC fielded more foreign players than allowed under the regulations of the 2025/26 Chang FA Cup.

In the match, Port FC deployed 11 of the 4 foreign players sharing the same nationality (F), including: #12 Francisco Calilson Mendes da Silva (Brazilian), #22 Rebin Zulaka (Iraqi), #27 Lucas Costa da Silva (Brazilian), and #33 Noboru Shimura (Japanese).

Then, at the 74th minute, Port FC substituted their 5th foreign player, number 18 Bryan Andres Perea Vargas from Colombia, with number 14 Teerasak Pueypimai, a Thai player. Next, in the 79th minute, they replaced their 6th foreign player, number 13 Matheus Guilherme Lins de Almeida from Brazil, with number 36 Peerawat Atkatham, a Thai player. As a result, from the 79th minute until the end of the game, Port FC had six foreign players on the field simultaneously, exceeding the allowed limit. This constitutes a violation of Article 7.7 of the 2025/26 Chang FA Cup regulations concerning the submission of foreign player lists on match day.

According to the Thai FA Cup regulations, Section 7.7.1, paragraph two, combined with Section 7.7.2 (1), the conditions for clubs participating in Thai League 1 regarding foreign players are: “They may register no more than 5 foreign players on the field at the same time, and may additionally register 2 players holding citizenship from ASEAN member countries.” Therefore, Port FC having 6 foreign players on the pitch simultaneously from the 79th minute to the end of the match is considered a breach of the above regulation.

– Disciplinary decision: Port FC is penalized for using six foreign players, exceeding the permitted number according to the rules. This constitutes the use of ineligible players, violating the regulations.

Thus, under the Disciplinary Code, Port FC is declared to have lost the match against True Bangkok United. Furthermore, Chapter 3 of the code specifies: “Penalty provisions related to forfeits: The team will be declared to have lost, with the goal difference counted as the actual number of goals conceded. If the actual number is fewer than three, it will be counted as three goals. The goals scored will be adjusted to zero.” Hence, Port FC is penalized with a 0-3 defeat to True Bangkok United.
