Amid praise for the "miracle" he brought, the Korean strategist emphasized that what Vietnamese football has achieved recently is thanks to the determination, spirit, and relentless effort of the young players..
For this training camp, the Korean coach called up 25 players. Alongside the squad that has proven their ability and resilience throughout the journey to win the SEA Games 33 gold medal, this list also includes two familiar faces: defender Lê Văn Hà (Hanoi) and forward Bùi Vĩ Hào (Becamex TP.HCM).
These players have regularly participated in recent U23 Vietnam team camps and are highly regarded for their adaptability to head coach Kim Sang Sik’s coaching philosophy.
The U23 Vietnam team will have 3 days of training at VFF before departing for Qatar on December 26th. There, they will play a friendly match against U23 Syria on January 1, 2026, to assess the squad and adjust tactics ahead of the main tournament.
With the preparations made and the confidence and excitement they currently have, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team hope to first advance beyond the group stage at the continental tournament, and perhaps even mark a new milestone following their runner-up finish at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship.
