Hanoi U19 has officially reached the milestone of 500 goals in the history of the National U19 Championship.
Nguyen Tien Dat's goal at the 63rd minute in this afternoon’s match against Phu Dong Youth U19 marked a historic milestone. With this goal, the Hanoi U19 squad officially reached 500 goals in the National U19 Championship. This figure is not just a simple statistic but also a testament to the capital’s team's devastating attacking power over nearly two decades.
Since participating in the first season in 2007, Hanoi U19 quickly rose to become the most renowned force. The team has maintained a consistent presence throughout 19 seasons (missing only in 2008). With an average of 13 matches per season, Hanoi U19 frequently reached the semifinals and finals, demonstrating remarkable stability in youth competitions.
The purple-shirted team’s scoring efficiency is truly impressive, averaging 26.3 goals per season. Their diverse and effective attacking ability has allowed Hanoi to establish a very short success cycle: winning a championship every 2 to 3 seasons. This is a dream figure for any youth academy in Vietnam, confirming the depth of the capital’s squad.
Looking back to 2006 when Hanoi T&T was newly founded, Vietnamese football was still dominated by two "giants": Song Lam Nghe An (5 championships) and The Cong - Viettel (2 championships). At that time, Hanoi was a complete newcomer, starting from zero while rivals already had illustrious records.
However, a remarkable overthrow took place after nearly 20 years of rapid development. Hanoi rose to the top with 7 championships, leaving former rivals far behind. Meanwhile, The Cong - Viettel only won one more cup since 2009, and Song Lam Nghe An has mostly stagnated. This change of guard proves Hanoi Club’s well-planned and continuous investment strategy.
This afternoon’s 500-goal milestone firmly affirms Hanoi U19’s position on the youth football map. Not only producing talents like Tien Dat, this academy has also built a solid development system. With the current momentum, Hanoi’s youth football will surely continue to conquer new heights in the future.
