The Vietnam U23 team is assembling to prepare for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals.

In addition to the squad that has proven their skills and competitive spirit throughout the journey to claim the SEA Games 33 gold medal, this gathering list also adds two familiar faces: defender Lê Văn Hà (Hanoi Club) and forward Bùi Vĩ Hào (Becamex Ho Chi Minh City). Both players have frequently participated in recent U23 Vietnam team camps and are highly regarded for their ability to adapt to Head Coach Kim Sang Sik’s coaching philosophy.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U23 team will regroup on December 23 to begin preparations for the continental competition. On December 26, the entire squad will depart for a training camp in Qatar to enhance fitness, refine tactics, and finalize personnel. During this camp, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team is expected to play an important friendly match against the Syria U23 team, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate the squad and adjust strategies ahead of the official tournament.

After the training phase, the Vietnam U23 team will travel to Saudi Arabia on January 1, 2026, to participate in the AFC U23 Championship finals. In this competition, Vietnam U23 is placed in a challenging group, facing U23 Jordan in the opening match on January 6, then U23 Kyrgyzstan on January 9, and concluding the group stage against host nation U23 Saudi Arabia on January 12.

With thorough preparation, a squad rich in international experience, and high spirits following their success at SEA Games 33, the Vietnam U23 team is expected to continue demonstrating a positive image, resilience, and ambition to excel at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
