FAM reports to the police regarding foreign players forging documents to obtain Malaysian citizenship.

This decision was confirmed by the Acting President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, during a press conference after the Special Executive Committee Meeting held at Wisma FAM at noon on December 22.

"We will file a police report following the recommendation of the Independent Investigation Committee (IIC), which stressed that authorities must be given the opportunity to investigate this case.

We plan to do this as soon as possible and will clearly report that there has been document forgery submitted to FIFA.

We want a comprehensive investigation into how this forgery could have occurred and who is responsible, as recommended by the IIC," he said.

Earlier, in its full investigation report, the IIC issued three recommendations to FAM related to the forgery of documents involving seven naturalized players of the Malaysian national team.

Among the recommendations, the IIC proposed that FAM immediately report to the police to enable authorities to conduct a thorough and proper investigation to identify the source of the suspected forged documents and clarify the responsible individuals.

The committee explained that the case involves allegations of forging official documents, which is considered a criminal offense under Malaysian law.

In its conclusion, the IIC also recommended that FAM’s Disciplinary Committee initiate internal disciplinary actions against the association’s Secretary-General, provided all legal procedures are fully complied with.

The third recommendation concerns governance, where the IIC suggested strengthening oversight mechanisms, reforming organizational structures, and implementing preventive measures to restore FAM’s reputation.
