HAGL stuns Hanoi FC with a 4-1 victory

During the first game of the Thai Nguyen Four-Team Cup, HAGL unexpectedly defeated the powerful Hanoi FC by 4-1.

On the opening day of the 2025 Thai Nguyen Four-Team Tournament, Hanoi FC suffered a shocking 1-4 loss to their opponent HAGL.

In this match, coach Harry Kewell fielded an experimental lineup featuring many young players such as Minh Hieu, Anh Tiep, Van Ha, Van Thang, alongside four regular starters Tuấn Hải, Xuân Tú, Văn Tùng, and Văn Toàn. Conversely, HAGL had a stable squad including several foreign players.

Hanoi FC started the game somewhat subdued compared to HAGL’s experienced V-League players. They conceded two early goals in the first half. In the second half, HAGL continued to dominate by scoring two more goals.

In the final minutes, the capital team scored a consolation goal thanks to Anh Tú, who came on as a substitute in the second half, ending the match with a 1-4 defeat.

In the next fixture, coach Harry Kewell’s squad will face PVF-CAND while HAGL will take on a tough challenge against The Cong Viettel coached by Popov. These matches are scheduled for December 24th.
