Christmas is nearly here, and this weekend’s fixtures represent the last Premier League matches before Boxing Day (Round 17). Perhaps some players are as eager for the holidays as you are. In one night, four Big Six teams played, resulting in joy for three and sorrow for one.

Manchester City triumphed over West Ham United with a 3-0 scoreline. As a title challenger facing a team fighting relegation, it was an easy win. In this match, Haaland was involved in all three goals, scoring twice and assisting once. The new signing Reinders had little defensive responsibility and happily netted a goal himself. Fans joked that Haaland is currently experiencing a “hat-trick drought,” as the striker hasn’t scored a hat-trick in quite some time.

Tottenham lost 1-2 to Liverpool, suffering both defeat and disciplinary blows. Simmons received a straight red card in the 33rd minute, and Romero was sent off late in the game after two yellows turned into a red. Isaac scored as a substitute, Weerts recorded his first Premier League assist, and Ekitike continued his goal-scoring streak! Liverpool’s new signings performed well, but Liverpool was pressed by a nine-man Tottenham side. Klopp appeared somewhat hesitant and tactically weak on the sidelines, making the win look ugly. Also, Tottenham played very aggressively and unsportingly!

Everton fell 0-1 to Arsenal, with O’Brien conceding a penalty for handball, which Yokress converted to break his scoring drought and secure the win! This match exposed Arsenal’s issues with low attacking efficiency and poor chance conversion. Apart from Havertz, Arsenal’s midfield and forward lineup was intact, but their offensive play was truly poor. Arteta’s in-game decisions were a fatal flaw, leaving Arsenal’s title challenge looking unstable!
