With a very poor penalty shootout, Inter Milan, like AC Milan, said goodbye to the Italian Super Cup.

Inter started dreamily as Marcus Thuram scored within the 70th second. Bastoni stole the ball from Orsolini, surged forward, and delivered a perfect cross for Thuram to volley close range and open the scoring. However, the early advantage wasn’t enough for Inter to control the game. Bologna pushed back strongly with chances from Bernardeschi and Pobega, forcing Josep Martinez to stay busy.

By the 35th minute, the blue-black team put themselves in trouble. Bisseck’s high header accidentally hit his hand, and after a lengthy VAR check, a penalty was awarded to Bologna. Orsolini struck straight into the top corner, leveling the match.
