It is revealed that Amrabat will no longer coach Manchester United next season, with two candidates lined up as his replacements! Rashford’s three-year promise proves ineffective.

Despite 40-year-old Rúben Amorim coaching Manchester United for more than a year and some progress being made, the gains fall short given the over £200 million investment. UK media indicate that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos team plans to make a significant decision to part ways with Amorim at the end of this season.

Under Amorim’s leadership, the club often regresses after making progress; to date, they have only recorded one back-to-back victory in the Premier League. Facing a Bournemouth side winless in six games and missing key players, Manchester United scored four goals, showing improved attacking prowess, but conceded four as well. If it weren’t for goalkeeper Senna Rams’ two crucial saves in stoppage time, the loss might have been heavier.

After the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth, data showed that Amorim’s team has dropped 10 points while leading, ranking third highest in the Premier League, behind Brentford (13 points) and Newcastle United (11 points).

There have been persistent reports doubting Amorim’s capabilities from the club’s upper management. The so-called “Green Hat Brother” from Indykaila News stated that although the club repeatedly denies it, Amorim is very likely not to remain Manchester United’s head coach next season, as more insiders believe he lacks the ability to bring the team back to its peak.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner’s contract is about to expire, and he is willing to take over at Manchester United. If Amorim can secure a Champions League spot this season, he might still have a chance to turn things around; however, failure to even qualify for the Europa League could lead to his immediate dismissal.

Another rumored candidate for the Manchester United managerial position is Barcelona legend Xavi, reportedly the preferred choice of CEO Omar Berrada. Of course, opinions differ, and respected transfer expert David Ornstein insists, “The club fully trusts Amorim and supports him in reversing the situation.”

Ornstein also admitted, “Manchester United has not reached the level demanded by the club, nor met the expectations of the fans or, frankly, the wider English football community. Since the post-Ferguson era, while there have been some bright moments, the club has mostly struggled, with many lows occurring during Amorim’s tenure. Nonetheless, the club clearly has confidence in him and supports his efforts to change the downward trend. Although progress is slow, they back him in the transfer market. Of course, they also acknowledge the team has been plagued by injuries.”

This likely reflects the reality of divided opinions within the club about Amorim; the proponents who hired him, Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox, are “Amorim’s protectors,” while other board members remain skeptical.

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker summarized that even with Sir Jim’s three-year promise, Amorim is always just a few matches away from being sacked because he cannot maintain consistent team performance. Whenever results dip, Amorim inevitably faces mounting pressure.

Parker commented, “Given the Premier League this season, with every team dropping points, Manchester United must finish in the top four. At the start of the season, I thought their goal should be to reach the top eight and return to European competitions, but with how things have unfolded—Liverpool struggling, Tottenham starting strong but fading, Chelsea inconsistent, and teams like Crystal Palace and Sunderland pushing into the top four—Manchester United obviously must compete for those spots.”

Parker added, “Many teams have performed poorly this season, and the situation resembles 2016 when Leicester City won the Premier League. Since Ferguson left in 2013, every Manchester United manager has faced similar pressure, and that won’t change. Ferguson always said losing five league games meant no chance of winning the title and that would be considered a bad season. Now, losing four or five games is normal for Manchester United; last season they lost 18 matches! For a club of this stature, that is an astonishing figure. A large part of that responsibility lies with Amorim.”

Parker spoke bluntly that managing Manchester United means being prepared for criticism after defeats. “Amorim is willing to bear this burden and expectation. He surely knows that taking this job means his life will be dominated by 90-minute matches and endless interviews. Moreover, as Manchester United’s coach, when you lose, you know exactly what fate awaits you.”
