The 20-year-old Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been the subject of transfer rumours and his agent is thought to be behind everything. Garnacho's agent was present at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's home ground, on Monday to watch the team's 3-1 Premier League win over Wolves, fearing "the biggest betrayal ever".
Garnacho's agent, Kique de Lucas, has posted a video of his trip to Stamford Bridge on social media. Internally, Manchester United have long believed that the Argentine winger's transfer rumours were driven by agents in order to force the club to get a better status and treatment. Garnacho has three and a half years left on his contract with Manchester United, which he signed in 2023.
Garnacho is also open to leaving Manchester United and will not rule out a move if there is a reasonable offer that the club is willing to accept. Chelsea have been revealed to be willing to pay Manchester United £60 million to bring in Garnacho and replace Nkunku with him.
In addition to Chelsea, Napoli and Garnacho in Serie A are rumored to be clear, and Italian media even claimed that the team's coach Antonio Conte had direct contact with Garnacho last Friday. Napoli boast Manchester United veterans Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku in a 3-2 win over Atalanta last weekend, with both wheat and Lucan on the scoresheet. Previously, Napoli made an offer of 45 million euros for Garnacho, which was rejected by Manchester United.
Italian media said that Napoli intends to offer 55 million euros plus 5 million euros floating clause, a total of 60 million euros to buy again, and Garnacho is a special candidate recommended by Conte to bring in. They even claim that Garnacho is ready for a medical and could play as early as Napoli's match against Juventus on 25 January, or the match against Roma on 2 February.
Naturally, the Reds are more interested in a purge of 27-year-old Academy star Marcus Rashford, however, with his £325,000-a-week salary barrier, it will be difficult to find a home. British media confirmed this week that Master La has not given up hope of playing for Manchester United again. Sources close to the player have stressed that Marcus Rashford wants to play for Manchester United, that there are no major problems between him and Amorim, and that he will be on the pitch and give 100 per cent his best whenever United need him.
French football journalist Julien Lawrence has said that Manchester United have given Garnacho a relatively low salary, which could provide a greater chance for his transfer. Garnacho's £50,000-a-week salary at United is less than a sixth of Marcus Rashford's, and he has more room to improve at a younger age.
Manchester United boss Amorim said on Thursday that Garnacho still has a future at Old Trafford despite rumours that he is set to leave Manchester United. Spanish football expert Guillerme Balague explained: "Garnacho thinks he is very, very good, sometimes it is, but not always. When he doesn't do well, it doesn't seem to be his fault. I don't think he's thinking about the next step he has to take in his career, he keeps trying, he keeps going, he doesn't blame anyone if things don't go his way. He is at a critical stage in his career. He can be a consistent top player, but in my opinion, he hasn't done that yet."
If United were to sell Garnacho because he had reached the club's academy years, his transfer income would be treated as pure profit. This will help Amorim bring in new signings in the winter transfer window, such as Lecce's Denmark international Patrick Dolgu and Red Bull Salzburg winger Dorgeles Nene.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the 22-year-old Malian winger Nene is a target for Manchester United, with his speed, potential and modest price. Nene made 57 appearances for Salzburg, scoring 11 goals. Christopher Vivel, one of United's current transfer directors, is well aware of him, as he was Red Bull's technical director.
