On January 18, Beijing time, the Chinese U20 men's football team (national youth) and the old giant Jeonbuk Hyundai of the Korean league played a warm-up match, and the national youth lost 1-4.
In this game, the national youth sent different starters in the first and second halves for the sake of training the team. In the first half, the starting lineup of the national youth was Liu Qiwei; Yang Xi, Peng Xiao, Shi Songchen, Xu Junchi; Xiong Jizheng, Chen Zeshi; Wang Yudong, Chen Shihan, Mao Weijie; Liu Chengyu. Jeonbuk Hyundai sent a first-team team to play, and there was a gap in the strength of the two sides.
In the first half, Jeonbuk Hyundai scored in just three minutes of the opening game. They scored in the 55th, 76th and 90th minutes. The Chinese national youth team was pulled back by Zhang Zhixiong, an 18-year-old player of the Guangzhou team who has been disbanded, in the 65th minute with a free kick.
According to the plan, the national youth team will play a total of four warm-up matches during the training in Thailand, on the 20th of this month, the national youth will play against the Thai national youth, and on the 25th and 26th, they will play against Yonsei University in South Korea and Bangkok United U23.
After playing these three games, the national youth will return to Shenzhen on the flight in the early morning of the 27th. Upon arrival in Shenzhen, the national youth team will be disbanded on the spot and the players will be given a three-day holiday to celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year with their families.
The team then regrouped in Shenzhen for the final sprint for the U20 Asian Cup, which kicks off on 13 February. Before facing Qatar on February 13, the national youth team will play two warm-up matches in Shenzhen, against the national youth of Uzbekistan and Syria.
