Hoàng Hên expressed his feelings about not being selected by Coach Kim Sang Sik for the Vietnam national team during the November FIFA Days training period.
On the evening of November 10, The Steel Blue Nam Định Club and Hà Nội ended in a draw in the round 11 match of the V-League. The home team took the lead early thanks to Lucas Alves, but a stunning volley by Xuân Mạnh in the 31st minute helped the capital team secure a valuable point.
Besides the intense competition between the two teams, the match was exciting as midfielder Hoàng Hên returned to his "home" Thiên Trường after some time away. After the match, Hên said:
"Today was a very tough game because Nam Định really needed a win. Earning a point here is not easy. Now we will return to Hà Nội, train hard, and aim to perform better in upcoming matches."
""Nam Định fans are always great. I’m very happy to be back here",he emotionally mentioned the support from Nam Định supporters.
Notably, when asked about not being called up to the Vietnam national team for the November FIFA Days training camp this time, Hên affirmed:"Not this time, but whenever Coach Kim Sang Sik wants me on the national team, I will be ready."
The newly naturalized Vietnamese player also revealed that Xuân Son congratulated him after he received citizenship: "Yes, Son was very happy when I got citizenship. I had to wait a long time, and now that I have it, Son is really happy for me."
After round 11 of the V-League, Hoàng Hên and Hà Nội FC will enter a nearly three-month break to make way for the national teams. This is a valuable time for Coach Harry Kewell to review and evaluate the progress so far, aiming to improve and pursue the highest goals this season.
With 1 point gained, Hà Nội remains in 7th place while Nam Định drops to 10th, only 2-3 points away from the relegation zone.
