4 of the most promising names in Europe are currently targeted by MU

4 players on Ruben Amorim’s radar as potential replacements for Sesko, who is underperforming at MU.

The knee injury of Benjamin Sesko is causing Manchester United to face a serious personnel issue in their attacking line. With a congested schedule and Bryan Mbeumo soon heading to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), coach Ruben Amorim hinted that the “Red Devils” might need to sign a new striker during the January transfer window.

In the draw against Tottenham, Sesko came off the bench but had to leave early due to injury, leaving Man United with only 10 men in the final minutes. Although the extent of the damage is not yet confirmed, the current situation suggests the Slovenian newcomer may be sidelined for a long period. Sesko was the team’s only true striker, and losing him forces Amorim to consider backup options.

According to European media, there are at least four names on the shortlist that Manchester United might target: Dusan Vlahovic, Vitor Roque, Ollie Watkins, and Endrick.

Dusan Vlahovic is the most feasible target. The Serbian striker’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of the season, and he is being pursued by Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham. However, Manchester United has shown interest previously and could act quickly to gain an advantage. Vlahovic has scored 6 goals in 15 matches this season, but Juventus is likely to consider offers if a reasonable fee is presented.

Meanwhile, Vitor Roque, a 20-year-old Brazilian talent, is seen as a long-term option. He has scored 13 goals in 28 games for Palmeiras and is valued at around 44 million euros. Manchester United is reportedly the “most interested” club in signing the player, who was previously bought by Barcelona and then loaned out.

Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa is also a consideration. His dip in form, with just 1 goal in 11 Premier League matches, might reduce his market value. Watkins has experience playing in England and has previously attracted Manchester United’s attention.

Finally, Endrick, a talent under contract with Real Madrid, is reportedly about to join Lyon on loan. However, Ruben Amorim, benefiting from language and coaching style similarities, could make Manchester United an attractive destination for the young Brazilian star if Real agrees to a temporary deal.

With a severely depleted forward line, the January transfer window will likely see Manchester United take decisive action. Whether it is a short-term signing or an investment for the future, Ruben Amorim’s plans aim to maintain competitiveness in the latter half of the season.
