On November 10th evening, the last two matches of round 11 in the LPBank V-League 2025/26 finished with opposite results for the two teams from the capital. At Hàng Đẫy, Công an Hà Nội (CAHN) achieved a convincing 3-0 win against Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh, maintaining pressure on top-ranked Ninh Bình. Conversely, Hà Nội FC earned just one point at Thiên Trường against a Nam Định team facing a crisis.
Returning to domestic competition after ending an 11-match unbeaten streak against Macarthur in the AFC Champions League Two, Coach Alexandre Polking’s squad showed strong determination to regain their winning form. Despite Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh’s recent impressive run with two consecutive wins, CAHN quickly demonstrated their class.
Quang Hải, Rogerio Alves, and Leo Artur combined smoothly, repeatedly creating dangerous chances in front of goalkeeper Thanh Tùng’s goal. Midway through the first half, from a clever pass by Leo Artur, Minh Phúc broke free, controlled the ball with one touch, and fired a decisive shot to open the scoring 1-0 for the home team. This was a significant milestone for U23 Vietnam international Minh Phúc, boosting his confidence as he prepares with the U22 Vietnam squad for the upcoming SEA Games 33.
After conceding, Hà Tĩnh tried to counterattack with fast breaks led by Viktor Lê and Tuấn Tài but were met by a tightly organized defense commanded by Đình Trọng and Adou Minh. In the second half, Coach Polking’s team continued to play proactively. At the 53rd minute, Đình Trọng delivered a precise pass to Rogerio Alves, the Brazilian striker spun and shot, with the ball deflecting off a defender to make it 2-0. This goal allowed CAHN to play more comfortably and dominate the match entirely.
At the 82nd minute, the crowd at Hàng Đẫy erupted as Quang Hải made a strong impact by scoring the final goal to seal a 3-0 victory over Thanh Tùng. This goal not only closed CAHN’s 3-0 win but also strongly affirmed Quang Hải’s return to form after a quiet start to the season.

With this win, CAHN reached 23 points after 11 rounds, maintaining second place and trailing league leaders Ninh Bình by only 4 points. However, CAHN still have two matches in hand and could overtake their rival if they win both rescheduled games. This is a crucial step for Coach Mano Polking’s team to sustain their title race, especially given the dense upcoming fixture schedule.
At Thiên Trường Stadium, the other capital city club, Hà Nội FC, failed to celebrate a victory. Despite the home team Nam Định suffering a serious slump and opening their stadium to welcome home fans for support, Hà Nội FC showed no improvement in performance.
The Nam Định team has gone six matches without a win and dropped to the lower end of the table. Nevertheless, Nam Định started energetically and unexpectedly took the lead early. In the 7th minute, center-back Lucas Alves unleashed a thunderous shot that beat goalkeeper Văn Chuẩn, putting the home side ahead 1-0.
The early goal boosted Nam Định’s confidence, but their deep defensive posture gradually allowed Hà Nội FC to take control. The capital team accelerated with central combinations involving Hùng Dũng, Văn Quyết, and Daniel Passira. After persistent efforts, in the 31st minute, Hùng Dũng delivered a precise pass for Xuân Mạnh to strike a beautiful volley, leveling the score at 1-1.
The second half was fiercely contested with many intense duels. Both teams had chances but lacked accuracy in finishing. Notably, at the 71st minute, Percy Tau fell inside the penalty area but was booked for simulation, causing frustration for the Nam Định foreign player.
In the final minutes, Hà Nội FC pressed hard but could not break through the dense home defense. Nam Định also launched a few dangerous counterattacks but failed to capitalize. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, a result both teams found disappointing.
With this draw, Hà Nội FC has only 15 points, ranking 6th, missing the chance to break into the top 5 as they trail Công an TP.HCM (5th) by 2 points. The draw at Thiên Trường once again exposed Hà Nội FC’s issues.
This was the first draw under Coach Harry Kewell. Hà Nội FC controlled possession well but lacked creativity and finishing ability. Meanwhile, Nam Định sits 10th with 10 points, continuing their winless streak and still struggling to overcome their crisis.
