Xuan Son together with some players from Hanoi, CAHN, and Nam Dinh assembled late with the Vietnam National Team.
Today, November 10, the Vietnam National Team officially gathered to prepare for their away match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on November 18. Unlike previous gatherings, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad will travel directly to Phu Tho instead of assembling at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
Similar to the period when they played at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), the Vietnam National Team will stay at the Saigon Hotel (Phu Tho). On the first day of the gathering, the "Golden Dragons" did not have their full squad as two matches of the 11th round of V-League were still ongoing between Nam Dinh and Hanoi FC and CAHN versus Hong Linh Ha Tinh.
The most anticipated player for this gathering, Xuan Son, was also absent on the first day of the Vietnam National Team’s assembly. Although he did not play in the 11th round due to not being registered from the start of the season, Xuan Son was present at Thien Truong Stadium to support his teammates at Nam Dinh Club. The Thanh Nam team has two players called up: Xuan Son and defender Nguyen Van Vi.
The two late V-League matches still include many Vietnam National Team players, mostly key members such as Thanh Chung, Duy Manh, Xuan Manh, Hai Long, Tuan Hai, while CAHN contributes Pendant Quang Vinh, Le Van Do, Le Pham Thanh Long, and Quang Hai. These 11 players will join the Vietnam National Team late and are expected to arrive in Phu Tho on the morning of November 11.
On November 10, besides the coaching staff, 12 other players joined the gathering: Van Lam, Dinh Trieu, Van Viet, Tuan Tai, Tien Dung, Tien Anh, Hoang Duc, Bao Toan, Gia Hung, Tien Linh, Gia Bao, and Viet Cuong. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team were also present. The Vietnam National Team is scheduled to have their first training session tomorrow, November 11, when the full squad is available.
Besides the two newcomers, center-back Khong Minh Gia Bao (from Ho Chi Minh City Police Club) and forward Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong (from Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club), Xuan Son is the name attracting much attention. Returning after 10 months of injury, it is unclear if the naturalized striker for the Vietnam National Team will be able to play, but his call-up will help him regain match fitness and quickly integrate with his teammates.
