Here are the top eleven performers from round 12 of the Eredivisie, as rated by Flashscore’s proprietary player rating system.

GK: Matthijs Branderhorst (Fortuna Sittard) - 8.6
A frequent figure in our Team of the Week, Branderhorst impressed once again for Fortuna Sittard. This time, he managed to keep a clean sheet.
During Fortuna’s 2-0 victory over Heerenveen, Branderhorst made eight saves and denied an expected goals total of 2.28.
DEF: Souffian El Karouani (FC Utrecht) - 8.4
El Karouani was rumored to be moving to Ajax last week, and on Sunday, he shone against the team that could soon become his new club.
The Moroccan left-back, who was overlooked for Morocco’s upcoming friendlies against Mozambique and Uganda, assisted both goals from set-pieces for FC Utrecht, created three chances, and made two interceptions in his side’s 2-1 victory over the record champions.
DEF: Matisse Didden (FC Utrecht) - 8.5
One of the players El Karouani assisted was center-back Matisse Didden, who scored the opener with a powerful header during stoppage time of the first half on Sunday.
In addition to his goal, Didden completed the most passes for Utrecht (29), won six aerial duels, and cleared the ball 10 times.
DEF: Dean James (Go Ahead Eagles) - 8.4
Dean James was the decisive factor for Go Ahead Eagles in their 2-1 win over league leaders Feyenoord. The Indonesian international scored a stunning, decisive goal in the 86th minute after an impressive solo run, also creating two chances, making four interceptions, and winning two tackles.
DEF: Yannick Leliendal (FC Volendam) - 8.3
Appearing for the second time in our Eredivisie Team of the Week, FC Volendam right-back Yannick Leliendal played a key role in his team’s second win in three league matches.
The Surinamese international assisted Robert Muhren’s 78th-minute winning goal that completed a comeback in the second half. Leliendal created three chances, completed more passes (69) than any other Volendam player, won nine of 13 duels, and recovered possession seven times — the highest in his team.
MID: Mauro Jr. (PSV) - 8.1
PSV’s consistent performer, Mauro Jr., delivered once again on Sunday: he has been outstanding throughout this season.
The Brazilian provided his fourth assist in the last five matches across all competitions and scored the opening goal in Alkmaar as PSV defeated AZ 5-1 in a dominant display. Defensively, Mauro Jr. won possession seven times, made three interceptions, and won three duels.

MID: Noah Naujoks (Excelsior) - 8.3
It has been a challenging season for promoted team Excelsior, who have already suffered eight defeats in the Eredivisie. Bottom side Heracles came to Rotterdam and secured another win on Saturday but faced strong resistance from Excelsior.
Noah Naujoks led the fight with five shots, eight duels won, and three fouls won. Although victory eluded them, Naujoks was a bright spot for the struggling hosts.
MID: Walid Ould Chikh (Heracles Almelo) - 8.2
On the other side, Heracles’ Walid Ould Chikh proved again to be highly valuable for his squad. After one of the worst starts in league history, Heracles have now won two games in a row, partly thanks to Ould Chikh.
Ould Chikh has contributed to three goals in his last three matches and scored Heracles’ equalizer on Saturday. The midfielder also tied for the team lead in duels won (10), won five fouls, and created one chance.
MID: Joey Veerman (PSV) - 8.1
Mauro Jr.’s midfield partner, Joey Veerman, is no less impressive: despite being left out of the Dutch squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Lithuania, he may already have made Ronald Koeman reconsider.
As in many matches this season, Veerman orchestrated PSV’s midfield. The Volendam native completed 66 passes, 27 into the final third, regained possession eight times, and scored PSV’s 4-1 goal early in the second half.
FW: Guus Til (PSV) - 8.7 (Player of the Week)
No Eredivisie player was as impactful as Guus Til last weekend. The midfielder-turned-forward scored a hat-trick against his former club AZ and spearheaded PSV’s dominant victory.
Til’s first goal came from a clever team move, his second after a remarkable solo effort, and his third was a free header in injury time of PSV’s 5-1 win. He replaced Ricardo Pepi, who was not fit to start, and fulfilled his role perfectly.
His 8.7 rating awards Til his first Player of the Week honor this year — a well-earned recognition in our view.
FW: Kento Shiogai (NEC) - 8.1
The 20-year-old Kento Shiogai has lacked consistency for NEC, but his talent is undeniable. On Sunday, he showcased his skills once more against FC Groningen.
Shiogai scored during his second-half appearance and tied for the team lead in completed dribbles (2). Recently given limited playing time, this performance might influence Dick Schreuder’s decisions going forward.
