Haaland faces severe criticism

Supporters voiced their disappointment at Erling Haaland following his failure to convert a penalty for Man City in the crucial game against Liverpool.

In the most anticipated fixture of Premier League Round 11, Man City demonstrated dominance over Liverpool at Etihad Stadium.

Jeremy Doku earned a penalty for the home team by capitalizing on a mistake between Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley, intercepting the ball and facing the goal directly.

The Belgian player tried to dribble past Liverpool's goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but his trailing foot struck the keeper’s knee causing him to fall. Liverpool players showed displeasure, yet it was difficult to blame them given their own error. Fortunately for Mamardashvili, the Georgian keeper had a chance to redeem himself after the previous play.

Few expected Erling Haaland, who has scored 13 goals in 10 Premier League matches this season, missed a golden opportunity from the penalty spot. His shot lacked enough power to challenge Mamardashvili, resulting in a regrettable miss. Compared to other Premier League games, Haaland often struggles more against Liverpool’s goal, making this another disappointing day for the Norwegian forward against The Kop.

Fans were stunned when Haaland failed to open the scoring from the penalty.

Nevertheless, Haaland had a chance to make amends by scoring a precise header to put Man City ahead in the 29th minute. This marked his 14th Premier League goal this season, further solidifying his lead in the Golden Boot race.

On Man City's side, Pep Guardiola’s team grew stronger as the match progressed and ended the first half with another somewhat fortunate goal by Nico Gonzalez.

This was seen as a huge advantage for the Manchester side to secure the final victory in the second half.
