AC Milan was held to a 2-2 draw by Parma at home despite leading 2-0, while Juventus shared points with Torino in the Turin derby.
Milan lost a victory at the Tardini Stadium after taking an early 2-0 lead, allowing Parma to fight back strongly and finish the match with a thrilling chase.
Goals from Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao seemed to give the Rossoneri full control, but Parma responded fiercely with goals from Adrian Bernabé and Enrico DelPrato, earning a valuable point.
The visitors started more effectively. After Lautaro Valenti nearly scored an own goal blocking Leao’s cross, Milan opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Christopher Nkunku laid the ball off at the edge of the box for Saelemaekers to strike a low shot that beat goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Parma then put the ball in Milan’s net in the 18th minute, but Oliver Sorensen was clearly offside.
AC Milan was held to a 2-2 draw by Parma in the 11th round of Serie A.
Milan kept increasing pressure and earned a penalty after Saelemaekers was fouled by Abdoulaye Ndiaye inside the box. VAR intervened, but the referee maintained his decision. Rafael Leao scored with a low shot to the near corner, making it 2-0 in the 25th minute.
It seemed Milan would easily dominate the game, but Parma gradually regained spirit. Sascha Britschgi stole the ball from Estupinan and passed to Adrian Bernabé, who curled a beautiful left-footed shot into the top corner, leaving Mike Maignan no chance near the end of the first half. This goal, reducing the score to 1-2, set up a tense back-and-forth battle after the break.
Parma pushed forward strongly, while Milan showed obvious complacency after leading. DelPrato continuously caused trouble with aerial duels and forward runs. Bernabé had a clear chance to equalize but shot over from a good position. Pellegrino then headed against the post as Milan’s goal was under constant pressure.
The tireless efforts of the home team were finally rewarded in the 62nd minute. Britschgi crossed from the right flank and DelPrato ran in to head the ball low into the far corner. The goal was very emotional since DelPrato has been a Milan supporter since childhood.
Rossoneri had another chance to regain the lead when Christian Pulisic returned from injury and broke through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his shot went narrowly wide. Saelemaekers and Bernabé also missed late chances in the intense end-to-end play, ending in a disappointing 2-2 draw for Milan.
In another match of the same round, Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus continued to frustrate as they were held to a goalless draw by Torino in the Derby della Mole. Although both sides created several opportunities, goalkeepers Michele Di Gregorio and Alberto Paleari performed excellently.
