Ruan Pablo is gaining increasing attention following his impressive performances with Brazil at the 2025 U17 World Cup. The young forward from Bahia is reportedly being closely scouted by Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, who have tracked his development for some time.

Ruan Pablo’s performance has drawn more focus after the winger scored a spectacular goal against the Indonesia U17 national team in the second round of the 2025 U17 World Cup. Pablo’s exquisite right-footed curling shot created a perfect curve, sealing a 4-0 victory for Brazil’s U17 team.

A report from the Spanish media outlet AS states that Ruan Pablo once again demonstrated his talent on the international stage and could soon join Man City in the near future. He previously shone at the South American U17 Championship, where he was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Guardiola is said to have recognized Ruan Pablo’s talent since last season. The 17-year-old trained in Manchester during Christmas, giving Man City’s scouting team a firsthand look at his potential.

Born in Salvador, Ruan Pablo is currently Bahia’s most sought-after prospect. The club acted swiftly to secure the young star’s future by extending his contract until December 2027, including a massive release clause of £169 million. This is one of the highest fees set for a young Brazilian player.

His speed, physical strength, excellent technique, ability to use both feet, and goal-scoring instinct are the main reasons many top European clubs are pursuing Ruan.

His performance at the 2025 U17 World Cup, including the goal against Indonesia, further cements his status as a promising talent. Manchester City now faces a choice: sign him immediately or allow him to develop further in Brazil with Bahia. Ruan Pablo is currently a Bahia player but officially joined Man City’s system last year. According to Tribal Football, Ruan Pablo will continue training with Bahia, a club within the City Football Group (CFG) network, until he turns 18. Currently 17, when he officially joins Man City at 18, his release clause will be €200 million.
