Southeast Asian fans react to Indonesia’s heavy defeat against Brazil at the World Cup

Although defeated soundly by Brazil in the U17 World Cup finals, Indonesia’s U17 squad garnered many supportive messages from fans across the region.

As expected, Indonesia’s U17 team was unable to surprise Brazil in the second match of Group H at the 2025 U17 World Cup finals. Despite their efforts, facing a much stronger opponent, the Indonesian side accepted a 0-4 loss and remain without points after two games.

Even after losing both opening matches at the 2025 U17 World Cup finals, Indonesia’s U17 team still received plenty of consolation from Southeast Asian supporters. Overall, the team coached by Nova Arianto showed a positive performance, giving their all against one of the tournament’s top favorites.

With this result, Brazil’s U17 team has already secured advancement with two wins and a goal difference of 11. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s U17 still has a small chance to progress since 8 out of 12 best third-placed teams will move on. In the final round, Indonesia will face Honduras, who also lost their first two matches.
