Goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng has successfully undergone surgery to treat the ligament injury he suffered in the game against Thể Công Viettel.
On November 7, Bùi Tiến Dũng, the goalkeeper of Đà Nẵng Club, went into surgery to address the knee injury he got during the 1–2 loss to Thể Công Viettel in the 7th round of the 2025/26 V-League.
MRI results revealed that the Thanh Hóa native goalkeeper suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), an injury that usually forces players to be sidelined for a long period. Initially, many reports suggested that Tiến Dũng might avoid surgery and recover through conservative treatment methods. However, Bùi Tiến Dũng ultimately decided to undergo surgery for a definitive cure. The operation was performed successfully.
“We are fine. The surgery was successful. Thank you for all the warm messages and support. He is currently resting and focusing on recovery,” Bùi Tiến Dũng’s wife shared on her personal page along with a photo of her smiling husband lying in the hospital bed.
According to sports medicine experts, ACL injuries typically require 6 to 9 months for full recovery. This means Bùi Tiến Dũng will likely miss the remainder of the 2025/26 season and can only return to the field in 2026.
During the extended absence of the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, Coach Nguyễn Đức Tuấn is expected to give chances to Phan Văn Biểu, a young goalkeeper who has been performing steadily.
As for Bùi Tiến Dũng, despite having to temporarily step away from the field, he remains optimistic and positive. Fans have sent many well wishes hoping the 1997-born goalkeeper recovers quickly and returns to playing soon.
