Southeast Asian fans collectively react to Xuân Son's return to the Vietnam national team

Fans across the region unanimously send their congratulations to the forward born in 1997 after a 10-month injury layoff.

On the afternoon of November 6, coach Kim Sang Sik announced the 23-player squad of the Vietnam national team preparing for the match against Laos on November 18 as part of Group F in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Among them, the comeback of striker Nguyễn Xuân Son after 10 months of injury drew special attention from the media and fans in the region.

On the Asean Football page, Southeast Asian fans commented in unison:

"Xuân Son has finally made his comeback,"account Al Hafiz expressed. ""Rafaelson's recovery has been remarkably fast."

"Welcome back, Xuân Son! It's great to see you recovered from that terrible injury,"user Rull sent congratulations.

"He (Xuân Son) is finally back. Congratulations on the 'profile' being approved by FIFA,"a fan hinted in a comment.

"Condolences to Malaysia," "Unfortunately, Xuân Son won't face Malaysia in March 2026 because Malaysian football will be banned from FIFA tournaments at that time,"many others also left cheerful remarks.

"Without those 7 naturalized players, I'm sure Malaysia would lose 0-5 if they played against this Vietnam lineup. At the 2021 AFF Cup, Indonesia fielded mostly U21 players, while Malaysia, with a full squad including Dion Cools, was crushed 4-1," an Indonesian fan commented.

"Go Vietnam. Hope you qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup finals," Indonesian user Ilyass Akbar Ramadhan remarked.

After joining the Vietnam national team camp from November 10, Xuân Son will reacquaint himself with the team environment, as well as regain his match fitness and scoring touch. If all goes well, coach Kim Sang Sik could field him in the match against Laos.
