According to the plan, the entire team will assemble on November 10th in Việt Trì (Phú Thọ) and is expected to travel to Laos on November 15th.

Compared to the last call-up, this list includes two newcomers: center-back Khổng Minh Gia Bảo (Ho Chi Minh City Police Club) and striker Nguyễn Trần Việt Cường (Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club) — promising fresh faces bringing youthful energy to the team. Additionally, fans received good news with the return of striker Nguyễn Xuân Son after almost a year sidelined for injury treatment.

Khổng Minh Gia Bảo, born in 2000, is regarded as a center-back with strong marking and physical strength, excellent stamina, and the ability to use both feet effectively. He developed at the Public Security Club, then played for Phù Đổng Ninh Bình before joining Quảng Nam Club, and transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Police Club in August 2025. Gia Bảo has represented Vietnam U20 and is considered one of the young defenders currently performing well in Vietnamese football.

Meanwhile, Nguyễn Trần Việt Cường, also born in 2000, is a product of the Becamex Bình Dương youth academy (former). He is known for his speed, technical skills, and finishing ability. In the 2025-2026 season, he continued to shine with Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, being regarded by experts as a “blend of Anh Đức and Tiến Linh” due to his versatility in the attacking line. Việt Cường has played for Vietnam U16 and U23 teams.

This training camp coincides with the crucial assembly period for the Vietnam U22 team preparing for SEA Games 33, so some prominent young players who previously appeared in the national team are absent this time. Nonetheless, Coach Kim Sang-sik maintains a stable squad, balancing experienced key players with those currently in good form at their clubs. Moreover, Nguyễn Xuân Son’s comeback is seen as a positive sign for the attack. As of now, Xuân Son has fully recovered and is ready to make his return wearing the national team jersey.

With a stable lineup and a determined spirit to seize the opportunity, Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team aim to secure all 3 points against Laos in the match on November 18th, thereby preserving their advantage in the race to qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup finals.
