Before heading to Japan for training, Vietnam U17 wrapped up their domestic preparation phase with a second friendly match against Cambodia U17 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. In this game, Vietnam U17 continued their impressive form by winning 5-0, with Nguyễn Văn Dương and Vũ Long Nhật each scoring twice, and the remaining goal by Chu Ngọc Nguyễn Lực.
In the first friendly on November 3rd, Vietnam U17 also secured a convincing 5-0 win. Goals were scored by Chu Ngọc Nguyễn Lực and Nguyễn Trọng Đại Nhân in the first half, followed by Nguyễn Minh Thủy, Nguyễn Văn Dương, and Trần Mạnh Quân in the second half.
Thus, Vietnam U17 concluded their domestic training period with an impressive 10-0 aggregate victory over Cambodia across two matches. This win not only boosted the team’s confidence but also provided the coaching staff an opportunity to test the squad and evaluate the young players’ tactical adaptability before entering a critical preparation phase.
The Vietnam U17 team has now arrived in Japan to begin their training camp. During this time, they will play three friendly matches against carefully selected opponents arranged by the Japan Football Association. The team is scheduled to return home on November 16th to finalize preparations for the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers, which will take place from November 22 to 30, 2025, in Hanoi and Hung Yen.
In Japan, Vietnam U17 is expected to play three international friendly matches against well-chosen teams that meet the coaching staff’s technical requirements. Specifically, they will face U18 Imabari on November 8, Matsuyama University on November 11, and U18 Ehime on November 13.
In the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers, Vietnam U17 is placed in Group C alongside Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), and the Northern Mariana Islands. Matches will be held from November 22 to 30, 2025, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and PVF Football Training Center.
