The U22 Vietnam roster preparing for SEA Games 33 draws notice due to the return of Bùi Vĩ Hào.
On November 6th, coach Kim Sang Sik announced a 26-player list for the U22 Vietnam team’s fourth training camp in 2025, aimed at preparing for the CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025 international football tournament and targeting SEA Games 33, which will be held in Thailand this December.
This camp gathers the strongest squad since the start of the year for the U22 Vietnam team, with players carefully selected through multiple training sessions and international matches.
Many notable players who have represented the National Team continue to be included, such as Trần Trung Kiên, Khuất Văn Khang, Nguyễn Đình Bắc, along with key contributors who played major roles in winning the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and qualifying for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship like Nguyễn Phi Hoàng, Nguyễn Xuân Bắc, Lê Văn Thuận, Nguyễn Thanh Nhàn, Nguyễn Ngọc Mỹ, Phạm Lý Đức…
Another highlight is the return of striker Bùi Vĩ Hào after a long period of injury recovery. The presence of this forward, who has been a familiar figure in National Team camps, promises to boost the attacking strength of the U22 Vietnam squad, especially as the team aims to compete for the Gold Medal at SEA Games 33.
According to the plan, the U22 Vietnam team will assemble on November 9th under the leadership of acting head coach Đinh Hồng Vinh, then depart for China to participate in the CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025. This tournament will take place from November 12 to 18 in Chengdu (Sichuan Province, China), featuring four U22 teams: China, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. The opportunity provided by the Vietnam Football Federation to join this high-quality event is expected to give U22 Vietnam a vital warm-up before SEA Games 33.
Right after the conclusion of the Panda Cup 2025, the U22 Vietnam team will enter a final preparatory training phase for SEA Games 33 starting November 23. During this period, the team will train in Vũng Tàu before heading to Thailand on December 2 to participate in the Games.
At SEA Games 33, U22 Vietnam is placed in Group B alongside U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos. According to the schedule, the team will kick off against U22 Laos at 6:30 PM on December 4, then face U22 Malaysia at 6:30 PM on December 11. All Group B matches will be held at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). The three group winners plus the best runner-up will advance to the semifinals. The semifinals will take place on December 15, while the bronze medal match and final will be held on December 18, both at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
