When and where will the Vietnam Footballer of the Year 2025 award ceremony take place?

The Vietnam Footballer of the Year 2025 ceremony is planned for late December in Ho Chi Minh City, celebrating the top players and marking the close of a triumphant season for Vietnamese football.

On November 6, at the headquarters of the Newspaper Saigon Giai Phong (SGGP), the organizing committee of the Vietnam Footballer of the Year Award held a press conference to announce the launch of the new voting season, the 30th edition of the most prestigious football award in Vietnam.

According to the plan, the announcement and award ceremony for the Vietnam Footballer of the Year 2025 is scheduled for late December 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, immediately after the conclusion of SEA Games 33.

The 2025 football season is considered a successful year for Vietnamese football at multiple levels. For the men's team, coach Kim Sang-sik's squad won the Southeast Asian U23 Championship for the third consecutive time and qualified for the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals. In December, this young team will aim for the highest goal, which is the gold medal at SEA Games 33 in Thailand.

Additionally, the Vietnam national team is maintaining strong performance in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers and still has a chance to participate in the final tournament of Asia’s most prestigious competition.

In women's football, coach Mai Duc Chung’s team also ended a memorable year by securing a spot in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals, starting their journey toward qualifying for the World Cup for the second time in history. The Vietnamese women’s team also aims to defend their sixth consecutive SEA Games gold medal, continuing to assert their top regional position.

Not only in 11-a-side football, Vietnamese futsal also achieved success by qualifying for the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship finals, bringing them closer to the goal of competing in the 2026 Futsal World Cup. At the same time in December, Pham Duc Hoa and his teammates will compete at SEA Games 33.

In 2025, the Vietnam Footballer of the Year Award will honor outstanding individuals across 14 categories, including: male gold, silver, and bronze balls; female gold, silver, and bronze balls; male futsal gold, silver, and bronze balls; best foreign player; best young male and female players; the Contribution Award; and the Most Popular Player Award.

In November, the organizing committee will send invitations along with the list of nominees to experts, coaches, club captains of the V.League, women’s football teams, futsal teams, and sports journalists nationwide to conduct voting, preparing for the gala night to honor the brightest stars of Vietnamese football at the end of this year.
