The Vietnam U22 team, the women’s national team, and the men’s and women’s futsal teams will start competing at the regional sports event held in Thailand from early December, with the goal of striving for the best possible results.
The Vietnam U22 team, led by coach Kim Sang Sik, is placed in Group B along with U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos. According to the schedule, the team will begin by facing U22 Laos at 6:30 PM on December 4th, followed by a match against U22 Malaysia at 6:30 PM on December 11th.
Group B matches will take place at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). The three group winners and the best second-place team will advance to the semifinals. The semifinals are scheduled for December 15th, while the bronze medal match and final will be held on December 18th, both at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
From November 10th to 19th, Vietnam U22 will participate in the Panda Cup in China, competing against strong U22 teams from China, Uzbekistan, and South Korea. After the tournament, the team will continue training in Ba Ria - Ho Chi Minh City from November 23rd to 29th before heading to Thailand.
In women’s football, the Vietnam women’s team is in Group B with Myanmar, Malaysia, and the Philippines. According to the schedule at Chonburi Stadium, coach Mai Duc Chung’s team will play Malaysia on December 5th, face the Philippines on December 8th, and finish the group stage with a match against Myanmar on December 11th. The top two teams will qualify for the semifinals on December 14th at either Chonburi or TNSU Chonburi Stadium, depending on the host Thailand’s results. The final and bronze medal matches are set for December 17th at Chonburi Stadium.
In futsal, the Vietnam men’s futsal team will compete in a single round-robin format against Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Matches will be played at Nonthaburi Arena. According to the schedule, coach Diego Giustozzi’s team will face Malaysia on December 16th, Indonesia on December 17th, Thailand on December 18th, and conclude the tournament with a match against Myanmar on December 19th.
The Vietnam women’s futsal team, led by coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, is in Group B with Indonesia and Myanmar. Matches will be held at BTU Hall (Bangkok Thonburi University). The team will start by playing Indonesia on December 12th and will play their remaining group match against Myanmar on December 14th. The top two teams from each group will move on to the semifinals on December 16th, followed by the final and bronze medal matches on December 18th.
Currently, Vietnam’s football and futsal teams are preparing for a crucial training phase ahead of the Southeast Asian Games, determined to achieve the best outcomes, affirm their status, and sustain the competitiveness of Vietnamese football in the regional arena.
