BREAKING: Malaysia may win a lawsuit against FIFA due to an error

The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, issued a firm statement following Malaysia’s discovery of an error in FIFA’s penalty, creating a unique opportunity for naturalized players to be exonerated and causing FIFA to face a potential historic loss.

The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, strongly criticized FIFA’s sanction against seven Malaysian naturalized players, accusing the decision of having "other motives" more than being based on legal regulations. The fines imposed on FAM and the players have sparked debate among Malaysian and regional football communities about the transparency of FIFA’s decisions.

On his personal Instagram, the Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail emphasized: "FIFA continues to punish these players citing a violation of Article 22 in FIFA’s Disciplinary Code related to forgery and fraud in documentation, whereas this does not apply to these players at all."

Malaysia has declared it will fight FIFA to the end.

The Regent further analyzed: "FIFA still penalizes players without relying on actual legal provisions, while Article 22 in FIFA’s code only states that only those who forge or use forged documents shall be sanctioned, which is completely unrelated to these players. In other words, this penalty is not legally based but seems to have 'other motives' more than legitimate reasons."

The Johor leader also affirmed that Malaysia will not stay silent in the face of injustice: "Some choose to criticize, some choose to make noise, but I choose to stand up and fully support the players, and the case will now be brought before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) – an independent body."

Previously, the penalty was upheld by FIFA’s Appeal Committee and announced on the evening of November 3rd, with FAM fined 350,000 CHF (over 11 billion VND), and each player fined 2,000 CHF (over 65 million VND). The players involved are Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Tomás Garces, Rodrigo Julian Holgado, Imanol Javier Machuca, Joao Vitor Brandao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal Iraurgui, and Hector Alejandro Hevel Serrano.

The case not only affects Malaysian football but also raises controversy about how FIFA handles naturalized players in international competitions. Will the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturn the sanctions and bring justice to Malaysian players, or will FIFA maintain its decision? This is the question regional football fans are eagerly awaiting.
