Efforts made and mistakes caused, Barcelona dropped points regrettably against a weaker away opponent

Barcelona had to share points in Belgium with regret, in a match where the attack tried hard but the defense kept making mistakes, negating Lamine Yamal’s outstanding performance.

At just the 6th minute, Club Brugge shocked by Tresoldi’s swift close-range finish to take the lead after a sharp right-wing combination. Two minutes later, Ferran Torres equalized for Barcelona with a skillful shot from Fermin’s assist. Catalunya’s side nearly took the lead when Fermin’s shot hit the crossbar, but Forbs restored Club Brugge’s lead in the 17th minute with a tidy finish after a perfect one-two with Tzolis.

Before the first half ended, Barcelona had another chance to equalize but Kounde’s long-range shot hit the crossbar again. In the second half, the exciting back-and-forth continued. Goalkeeper Szczesny saved for Barca after a dangerous strike by Joaquin Seys, and Eric Garcia once more saw his shot hit the post.
