Arsenal pays a heavy price after their 3-0 victory in the Champions League

Arsenal is dealing with multiple new injuries with Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Magalhães experiencing physical problems, causing head coach Mikel Arteta to be concerned before a challenging period in the season.

Following the 3-0 win against Slavia Prague in the Champions League, Arsenal not only celebrated the scoreline but also had to confront fresh concerns about injuries to key players. Coach Mikel Arteta is currently troubled by a long list of players undergoing treatment, with Viktor Gyokeres being the latest cause for worry.

Before traveling to the Czech Republic, Arteta confirmed that the Swedish striker had issues during the latest training session. “He [Viktor] was unable to train today, and we need to carry out further tests and scans to accurately determine the extent of the injury; currently, we are still assessing and will announce once we have specific results,”Arteta shared.

Although there is no official diagnosis yet, it is likely that Gyokeres will miss several weeks of play. However, this could be a suitable period for him to recover, as after the match against Sunderland this weekend, competitions will pause for the final international break of 2025. Arsenal will not return to action until November 23, when they face Tottenham in the North London derby.

Additionally, there are some concerns as central defender Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a facial cut after a collision in the 18th minute and required medical attention. Nevertheless, the Brazilian player managed to complete the full 90 minutes, helping Arsenal keep a clean sheet.

According to coach Arteta, Arsenal might receive good news in November as several key players like Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke, and Kai Havertz are progressing well in their recovery. “If they continue to improve as they have been, after the international break, we will have some players returning,” Arteta stated.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus is still undergoing treatment for a long-term knee injury but is expected to return towards the end of the year. With steady form and a recovering squad, Arsenal is aiming for the crucial stage of the season hoping to maintain their momentum across all competitions.
