Young prospect Desire Doue of PSG has officially claimed the Golden Boy 2025 award, following his major contribution to the French club’s Champions League victory.
The young French star Desire Doue had a brilliant debut season with Paris Saint-Germain in 2024/25, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists across all competitions. Under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, Doue played a vital role in PSG’s historic quadruple including the Champions League,Ligue 1, the French Cup, and the French Super Cup.
Joining Parc des Princes last summer for a fee of 50 million Euros, Doue quickly established himself as a key player in Enrique’s preferred lineup. His outstanding performance culminated in being named Man of the Match in the Champions League final, after scoring twice and assisting once, contributing to PSG’s overwhelming 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.
The Golden Boy award was founded by the newspaper Tuttosport (Italy) in 2003 to honor the best U21 player worldwide each season. The 2024 winner was Barcelona’s prodigy Lamine Yamal, who is ineligible to compete this year due to rules preventing previous winners from reapplying.
In the 2025 race, Doue surpassed strong contenders such as Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona), Estevao (Chelsea), Kenan Yildiz (Juventus), and Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid) to be officially named Golden Boy 2025, after becoming an indispensable figure at PSG.
Besides the main award, Tuttosport also announced several other categories:
Luis Campos (PSG) won the Best Football Operator of the Year award.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi was honored as the Best Chairman.
Ali Barat (Epic Sports) received the Best Agent award.
Liam Williamson (Arsenal & England National Team) was given the Golden Player Women title.
Michelle Agyemang earned the Golden Girl Absolute Best award.
Eva Schatzer was recognized as the Best Golden Girl Italia, while Pio Esposito (Inter Milan) received the Best Golden Boy Italia award.
Notably, former Liverpool striker Diogo Jota was posthumously awarded The Golden Player Man title in tribute after his tragic passing earlier this year.
