(Football result) - Tottenham excelled spectacularly in their 4-0 victory over Copenhagen at the Champions League, despite being reduced to 10 men, featuring an unbelievable solo goal from center-back Micky van de Ven.
Tottenham delivered their most outstanding performance since the season began by beating Copenhagen 4-0 at home in the Champions League. Even after being down to 10 men midway through the second half, Thomas Frank’s squad showed superior quality, especially with the astonishing solo goal by defender Micky van de Ven.
Following a disappointing 0-1 loss to Chelsea last weekend, Tottenham faced considerable pressure returning to European competition. However, the “Spurs” quickly dispelled the disappointment with fast-paced, decisive, and effective play.

In the 19th minute, capitalizing on a bad pass from Gabriel Pereira of the visitors, Rodrigo Bentancur intercepted the ball and quickly combined with Xavi Simons. The young Dutch midfielder delivered a precise lofted pass to Brennan Johnson, who broke past goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski and calmly finished to open the scoring.
Tottenham didn’t stop there, doubling their lead just minutes later. After Kolo Muani pressured goalkeeper Kotarski into a mistake, the ball fell perfectly to Wilson Odobert, and the young French player took full advantage to make it 2-0.
It seemed Spurs would comfortably control the match, but the turning point came in the 62nd minute when Brennan Johnson received a direct red card for a dangerous tackle on Marcos Lopez. Down to 10 men, Tottenham had to retreat defensively, yet they maintained their enthusiasm.
At the 70th minute, the stadium erupted as Micky van de Ven performed a legendary solo run. The Dutch defender received the ball close to his own penalty area, dribbled over 60 meters, bypassed five Copenhagen players, and curled a shot into the far corner past Kotarski. A goal that prompted the entire stadium to stand and applaud, widely regarded as a top candidate for “Goal of the Season.”

Tottenham completed their perfect night when Joao Palhinha easily tapped in to make it 4-0 in the 82nd minute, following a precise cross from Cristian Romero. Richarlison even had a chance for a fifth goal in added time, but his penalty hit the crossbar.
The 4-0 win keeps Tottenham unbeaten in the Champions League with 8 points from 4 matches (2 wins, 2 draws), solidifying their position in the group competing for direct qualification to the round of 16. Contrasting sharply with their poor display against Chelsea, the brilliant performance against Copenhagen reflects a strong resurgence in spirit under Thomas Frank.
